Dahlonega, GA – Wahoo Docks announces the recent completion of community docks for the Lake Arrowhead Association in Waleska, GA. With copious amounts of people exiting the city life of Atlanta and migrating north, many have made the Lake Arrowhead community their home. So, the necessity for a new community dock was becoming more apparent to fulfill the needs of local residents.
Lake Arrowhead Community Dock Project
Wahoo Docks dealer Casey Custom Docks worked with the association to install the two phases simultaneously. The Wahoo CAT5 aluminum frame is among the strongest on the market and the first aluminum floating dock system on the lake. What made this project unique was the custom upper-level design with partially enclosed knee-walls. The pavilion has a mahogany deck, tongue and groove pine ceilings, glass handrails, and powder coated framework.
In addition, the 200-foot pier includes electric utilities for the twenty-six boat slips. These are all finished with concrete pavers and Wahoo’s custom CAT5 bumpers. However, anchoring was a unique challenge on this project, as the dock is floating in water with a depth of over 120 feet. So, five-thousand feet of stainless steel cables were installed along with eighty-thousand pounds of concrete deadweights to hold the dock in place. The Wahoo Docks system and anchoring have already proven themselves sufficient after surviving a tornado completely unscathed.
Casey Custom Docks’ involvement in this project began at the Atlanta Boat Show in January of 2018. Within six months, they were under contract. The entire project was complete by 2019, and ahead of schedule. The Lake Arrowhead pavilion dock has become a focal point of the lake. Also, the design can accommodate gatherings of up to 120 people. Therefore, coming off the success of this project, it is inevitable that more Wahoo Docks systems will be seen on Lake Arrowhead in the future.
